Marcus Rashford has officially joined Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United until the end of the 2024-25 season. Aston Villa will cover at least 75% of Rashford’s  £350,000 weekly wages, with the potential to increase to 90% based on performance-related bonuses. The agreement includes an option for Villa to make the transfer permanent for £40 million in the summer.

Rashford’s move comes after a period of limited playing time at Manchester United under manager Ruben Amorim, who has been critical of Rashford’s effort in training. The forward has not featured for United since December 12, 2024.

In his statement, Rashford expressed gratitude to both clubs for facilitating the move and highlighted his admiration for Aston Villa’s performance and the manager’s ambitions this season. He emphasized his eagerness to play football and extended his best wishes to Manchester United for the remainder of the season.

Rashford, who has been with Manchester United since joining their youth academy at the age of seven, has made 426 appearances and scored 138 goals for the club. His debut for Aston Villa may be in the fourth round of the FA Cup against Tottenham next Sunday.
